The first temple was described by one
as exceedingly magnifical.

It was conceived by King David and built during the reign of King Solomon. At its dedication the glory of God was so awesome and thick that the ministering priests stood in silence unable to speak and neither did anyone. God’s glory spoke loud and clear that day.

This temple would be destroyed by
Nebuchadnezzar in the invasion of Israel and Judah many years after the
dedication.

The temple in Judah would remain in ruins until Cyrus the Persian issued the decree to rebuild it which took place in the days of Nehemiah and others.

Despite the great efforts of all to
reproduce the temple to its original beauty, the finished temple was not as
beautiful. Yet the Lord said the latter house would be greater than the
former.

The latter house was a reference to
the New Testament church that would exceed that of the Old Testament. No matter
what took place under the Old Covenant the New would surpass it. Ultimately the
church would be greater in beauty and importance to God than the first temple.

As previously said, the first temple
was conceived by King David but the church was conceived by God.

As David sat in his palace one day he
had the idea to build a temple for God in appreciation for His many blessings,
in particular, for elevating a shepherd boy to become King over Israel.

The church was conceived before the foundation of the world and of it Christ told Peter the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Political tyrants and dictators as
well as false religious leaders have tried to destroy the church through
persecution, lies and infiltration but the church is still alive and well.

Bad things happen in the name of the
church but His sheep knows His voice and the true church is known by fruits and
not leaves; by the power of God and not the wisdom of men.

The best is yet to come is not a
boast but our commitment to God for greater. “It’s not by might nor by
power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord”.

Please pray for us as we labour
locally and beyond that our motto: “a ministry to the community and
beyond” will become a reality.

I don’t know what the best is yet to come entails but if it will be greater than the first forty years then I am excited.

RRF has ministered to many in Luton
and Bedfordshire, have planted churches in Bedford and Dunstable and overseas
in Kenya and Uganda. We have also strengthened the work in India and West
Africa and travelled to North America and the Caribbean.

The plan going forward is to train
new leaders, give more responsibility to existing leaders, to use the Internet
for TV and radio broadcast through its own TV and radio stations. The plan is
also to enlarge the church and establish new ones on a regular basis.

Again I ask that you pray for us,
partner with us and stay in touch with us.
