Remember the serpent’s head (Satan) was fatally wounded at Calvary.  A decapitated serpent still moves and give the appearance of life because the nerves are still connected. The unlearned might still be fearful thinking the serpent is still alive, but the knowledgeable is not afraid. The early church had much to contend with but they were not ignorant of Satan or his devices but knew very well that his head was bruised. “Greater is He (Christ ), that is in you, than he that is in the world”, wrote Apostle John, a man who had first hand experience of  the serpent.

Laws have been passed by nations over the millenia to curb evil which have worked. Laws that have been inspired by the church and the Bible. Philip went to Samaria (Acts 8) and exposed the weakness of Satan by preaching the gospel which God confirmed with signs and wonders and miracles. Simon, a sorcerer was himself delivered and became a Christian.

Finally, the serpent is still alive but fatally wounded its just a matter of time before he is bound and thrown into the bottomless pit. Until then he will slither, squirm and try to frighten but keep your distance and don’t be intimidated.

Our platform is the world and our congregation the people.
